Provider Usage and BYOK
How Bring Your Own Key works, what opheli.ai does, what Providers bill, and what budget tools can and cannot guarantee.
Final legal review required before public launch. This page is professional draft policy content and must be reviewed by qualified counsel before public launch.
BYOK
Bring Your Own Key means you connect your Provider account
BYOK means users connect Provider keys from external AI Providers such as OpenAI or Anthropic when supported. opheli.ai then uses those keys server-side for user-requested Runs.
Costs
Provider usage is billed by your Provider
Your opheli.ai subscription covers platform access, limits, and product features. It does not include external Provider usage unless managed credits are explicitly introduced later.
Final charges, invoices, credits, discounts, taxes, free-tier limits, rate limits, and model pricing are determined by the connected Provider. Monitor the Provider dashboard directly.
Provider usage values shown in opheli.ai are estimates unless marked Verified by Provider.
Cost values shown in opheli.ai are Estimated by opheli.ai unless a specific usage record is marked Verified by Provider. Pending Provider Sync and Provider Cost Unavailable states mean users should verify Provider dashboards directly.
Budgets
Budget tools are estimates and guards
opheli.ai budget tools can estimate and guard usage before execution scales, but they may not perfectly match external Provider billing due to Provider pricing changes, rounding, retries, model behavior, taxes, credits, or Provider-side adjustments.
Budget guards are best-effort controls and visibility tools; they are not guarantees against all external Provider charges.
Provider dependency
Provider errors and policies may affect Runs
Provider outages, rate limits, billing failures, model changes, regional restrictions, content filters, or policy decisions may delay, fail, or change Runs. Those conditions are outside opheli.ai control unless caused by platform behavior.
